Senior DevOps Engineer

THE ROLE

As our first dedicated DevOps engineer, you’ll work closely with our product, engineering,

and operations teams to help ship software that has a positive, lasting impact on the

cannabis industry, ensuring the services we’re building for the future of distributed supply

chain management is reliable and secure.

We have relied so far on the DevOps experience of our Engineering team, which has

worked well for us, but we recognize it’s time to take the next step and hire a new team

member that can help us build out the kind of infrastructure to help us take our business

to the next level.

Our approach to all work is prototype → iterate → refine → ship. This role comes with a high

degree of autonomy, but we don’t expect you to be an expert on all fronts, and you

will be supported and mentored as you work with our internal teams to identify, scope

and build solutions. Some signs you may be a good fit for this role:

  • You have experience with Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, PostgreSQL, Python, GitLab CI/CD, and containerization, or equivalent platforms/technologies

  • You have experience supporting many kinds of services and applications in production

  • You have experience mentoring others in the field and care deeply about doing it well

  • You take a holistic approach to reliability and software delivery and enjoy working with others to find cross-functional solutions that may involve training, documentation, processes, infrastructure, code, and beyond

  • You can work independently and are self-motivating -- but you know when to ask for help

  • You have a sense of when to craft something vs. when to just build it

  • You like figuring out how to get things done in an environment filled with constraints

  • You have strong verbal and written English communication skills
